What is Calamarii?

Calamarii is a local task marketplace connecting you with verified taskers and pro businesses in Dubai. Post a task, receive offers from qualified people, choose the best fit, and pay securely through our escrow system. Whether you need cleaning, moving, repairs, or creative services โ€” get it done today.

Calamarii is currently live in Dubai, UAE. We plan to expand to other emirates and GCC countries in the near future. Join our newsletter to be notified when we launch in your area.

Calamarii works entirely in your browser โ€” no app download required. Our platform is fully responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. A native app is on our roadmap.

Creating Your Account

Click "Get Started" or "Sign Up" from the homepage. You can register with your email address, Google account, or Apple ID. You'll need to verify your email and phone number to start using the platform.

All users must verify their email and UAE phone number. To post tasks, that's all you need. To become a tasker and accept work, you must also verify your Emirates ID through our secure Sumsub verification process.

Yes! Businesses can apply for a Pro account which includes a verified business badge, priority listing, analytics dashboard, and VAT invoice support. You'll need a valid UAE trade license to apply.

Your First Task

Click "Post a Task" from the navigation bar. Choose a category, describe what you need (the more detail the better), select your location and preferred timing, set your budget, and submit. Verified taskers will start sending offers within minutes.

Budgets vary by category and complexity. Most tasks on Calamarii range from 50 to 500 AED. When posting, you'll see suggested price ranges based on similar completed tasks. You can also set "Make me an offer" to let taskers propose their price.

Most tasks receive their first offer within 15 minutes. Popular categories like cleaning and errands tend to get offers fastest. Adding details and a fair budget helps attract quality offers quickly.

Calamarii supports 10 categories: Cleaning, Assembly, Moving, Errands, Repairs, Tech Help, Events & Entertainment, Creative, Chefs & Catering, and Other. Each category has specific fields to help you describe your task clearly.

The more details, the better offers you'll receive. Include the scope of work, any supplies or tools needed, access instructions for your location, specific timing requirements, and any preferences. Each category has tailored fields to guide you.

Yes, you can upload up to 5 photos when creating a task. Photos help taskers understand the scope โ€” for example, showing the furniture to be assembled or the space to be cleaned.

You can specify your location type: Apartment, Villa, Shop/Office, Garage, Warehouse, or Outdoor location. Each type shows relevant fields โ€” for example, apartments ask for building name and floor, while outdoor locations ask for a landmark.

Managing Your Task

Go to "My Tasks" from the navigation menu, find your task, and click "Edit Task." You can modify the description, budget, timing, and other details. Note: once a tasker's offer is accepted, some fields become locked.

Yes, you can cancel an open task at any time with no charge. If a tasker has already been assigned, cancellation may incur a fee depending on how close to the scheduled time you cancel. See our cancellation policy for details.

You'll be notified when taskers send offers. Each offer includes the tasker's profile, rating, price, estimated completion time, and a message. You can view profiles, compare offers, ask questions in chat, and accept the best fit.

Yes! From your completed tasks, click "Repost" to create a new task with the same details, or "Re-order" to quickly book the same tasker again.

Task Statuses

Open โ€” your task is live and receiving offers. In Progress โ€” a tasker has been assigned and is working. Reviewing โ€” the tasker has marked the work as done and is awaiting your confirmation. Completed โ€” you've approved the work and payment has been released.

When your tasker marks their work as done, you'll receive a notification to review. Check the completed work, then click "Approve & Release Payment" to finish. If you're not satisfied, you can click "Request Revision" to ask for adjustments.

For Taskers

Becoming a Tasker

Sign up for a Calamarii account and complete Emirates ID verification through Sumsub. Once verified, you can browse available tasks and send offers to task posters. There's no application process โ€” just verify and start earning.

You need a valid Emirates ID (front and back), a selfie for liveness check, and a UAE phone number. The verification process takes 5-10 minutes and is usually approved within hours.

Absolutely. Browse available tasks filtered by category, location, and budget. Send offers only on tasks that match your skills and schedule. You're never auto-assigned to a task.

Sending Offers & Working

Browse tasks on the marketplace, click into one that interests you, and click "Send Offer." Include your proposed price, estimated time, and a message explaining why you're a great fit. Task posters appreciate specific, personalized messages.

Yes. Your offer price can differ from the posted budget. You can propose a higher or lower amount based on the actual scope. Some task posters enable "Make me an offer" specifically for this purpose.

If the actual work differs significantly from what was described, communicate with the task poster through in-app chat. You can request a scope adjustment. If you can't agree, you can open a dispute for mediation.

When you've finished the task, go to the task detail page and click "Mark Complete." The task poster will be notified to review and approve your work. Once approved, payment is released from escrow.

Earnings & Payouts

Individual taskers pay a 10% service fee on completed tasks. For example, on a 100 AED task, you earn 90 AED. Pro business accounts pay 15% plus a 99 AED/month subscription.

Payments are released from escrow once the task poster approves your work. Funds are transferred to your linked UAE bank account on a weekly payout cycle (every Sunday). Minimum payout threshold is 50 AED.

Yes, your dashboard shows total earnings, pending payouts, completed tasks, and a detailed transaction history. You can filter by date range and export statements for your records.

Building Your Profile

Complete your profile with a professional photo and bio. Respond to tasks quickly โ€” being first matters. Write personalized offer messages. Maintain a high rating by delivering quality work on time. Specialize in categories where you excel.

After each completed task, both parties can leave a 1-5 star rating and written review. Your overall rating is displayed on your profile. Ratings cannot be edited once submitted, but you can respond to reviews.

Yes. In your profile settings, you can set your working hours, preferred areas in Dubai, and categories you specialize in. This helps task posters find you for relevant tasks.

For Pro Businesses

Applying for Pro

Pro accounts get: a gold verified badge, priority placement in search results, access to high-value tasks (500+ AED), a business analytics dashboard, VAT invoice support, team member management, and a dedicated account manager.

You'll need: a valid UAE trade license, Emirates ID of the authorized contact person, company profile/portfolio (optional but recommended), and your VAT TRN number if VAT-registered.

We review Pro applications within 2-3 business days. You'll receive email updates at each stage. If additional information is needed, we'll specify exactly what's required.

Pro accounts pay 99 AED/month plus a 15% commission on completed tasks. The subscription includes all premium features, analytics, and priority support. There's no long-term contract โ€” cancel anytime.

VAT & Invoicing

For Pro businesses with a valid TRN, Calamarii automatically adds 5% VAT to invoices. Your VAT TRN is displayed on all generated invoices. Individual taskers without a TRN are not required to charge VAT.

Calamarii auto-generates invoices for every completed task. Invoices include task details, service fees, VAT breakdown (if applicable), and payment information. You can download invoices individually or in bulk from your dashboard.

You can use Calamarii-generated invoices or issue your own. Our invoices include all FTA-required fields. If you use your own invoicing system, you can download task data in CSV format.

Managing Your Team

Pro accounts can add team members who work under your business profile. Each member needs their own Emirates ID verification. Tasks can be assigned to specific team members.

Your Pro dashboard shows: revenue trends, task completion rates, average ratings, response times, popular categories, and customer retention metrics. Data can be filtered by date range and exported.

Payments & Billing

How Escrow Works

Escrow is a secure payment system where your money is held by a trusted third party (Stripe) until the task is completed. This protects task posters from paying for unfinished work, and taskers from not getting paid for completed work.

Payment is authorized when you accept a tasker's offer. The amount is held in escrow but not transferred to the tasker. It's only released after you confirm the task is completed satisfactorily.

If the work doesn't meet the task description, you can request revisions before releasing payment. If you can't resolve the issue with the tasker, open a dispute. Our team will mediate and determine a fair resolution, which may include a partial or full refund.

Fees & Pricing

Task posters pay no platform fees โ€” the price you see is the price you pay. Taskers pay a 10% service fee on completed tasks. Pro businesses pay 15% plus 99 AED/month subscription. All fees are transparently shown before you confirm.

No hidden charges. The budget you set and the offer you accept is the final amount. Calamarii's service fee is deducted from the tasker's payout, not added to your bill. VAT is only added for Pro business transactions.

Yes! After a task is completed, you have the option to add a tip. Tips go 100% to the tasker with no platform fee deducted. Tipping is completely optional but always appreciated.

Refunds & Cancellations

If a task is cancelled before work begins, you receive a full refund. If a dispute is resolved in your favor, you'll receive a partial or full refund depending on the circumstances. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method.

Free cancellation for open tasks with no accepted offers. For service bookings: 100% refund if cancelled 3-6 hours before the scheduled time, 75% refund if cancelled 1-3 hours before, and 50% refund during the order. No-shows by taskers result in a full refund plus priority rebooking.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit and debit cards. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Trust & Safety

Identity Verification

All taskers must verify their Emirates ID through Sumsub, our trusted KYC provider. This includes document verification and a liveness selfie check. Pro businesses must additionally provide a valid UAE trade license. Task posters verify via email and phone.

The blue verified badge means a tasker has passed full Emirates ID verification. The gold Pro badge means a business has verified their trade license. Only work with verified users for maximum protection.

Your Emirates ID and personal documents are processed by Sumsub, a SOC 2 certified provider. Calamarii never stores your full ID documents โ€” only verification status. Your personal information is never shared with other users.

Safe Communication

To protect both parties, our system blocks sharing of phone numbers, emails, and social media handles in chat. All communication should happen through the Calamarii platform where it's logged and protected. This prevents scams and ensures dispute resolution is possible.

Our content moderation system blocks: phone numbers (including spelled-out or encoded numbers), email addresses, social media handles, WhatsApp/Telegram links, and external URLs (except Google Maps for location sharing). This keeps all transactions safe and on-platform.

In-app calling and video features are enabled only when you have an active task with the tasker. This prevents unsolicited contact while allowing necessary communication during active work.

Disputes & Protection

Go to the task detail page and click "Report Issue." Select the reason (no-show, quality issue, scope disagreement, etc.), provide details and any supporting photos. Our dispute resolution team will review within 24 hours.

We cover up to 5,000 AED per task for property damage caused during task execution, provided the task was booked and paid through the platform. Claims must be filed within 48 hours of task completion with supporting evidence.

Yes. In any conversation, click the shield icon to block a user. Blocked users cannot send you messages, see your tasks, or send you offers. You can unblock users at any time from your settings.

Our team reviews all evidence from both parties: chat history, task description, photos, and completion status. We aim to resolve disputes within 48 hours. Outcomes may include full/partial refund, payment release, or account actions depending on the situation.

Community Guidelines

Calamarii prohibits: harassment or discrimination, sharing contact info to avoid platform fees, requesting or performing illegal services, creating fake accounts or reviews, no-showing without notice, and any form of fraud. Violations result in warnings, suspension, or permanent ban.

You can report a user through the task page, chat window, or their profile. Reports are reviewed by our trust & safety team within 24 hours. You can report for: inappropriate behavior, suspected fraud, fake profile, or safety concerns.

First-time minor violations receive a warning. Repeated or serious violations result in temporary suspension (7-30 days). Severe violations like fraud, harassment, or safety threats result in permanent account termination and may be reported to authorities.

Account & Settings

Managing Your Profile

Click your avatar in the top right corner and select your profile. You can update your name, bio, profile photo, skills, and service areas. Taskers can also set their hourly rate range and availability.

Yes. Go to Account Settings and update your email or phone number. You'll need to verify the new email/phone before the change takes effect. Your old contact info remains active until verification is complete.

Go to Account Settings > Privacy > Delete Account. You must complete or cancel all active tasks and withdraw any pending earnings first. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Your reviews and ratings will be anonymized.

Notifications

You'll receive notifications for: new offers on your tasks, messages from taskers/posters, task status changes, payment updates, and promotional offers. All notifications come via in-app alerts and email.

Go to Account Settings > Notifications. You can toggle each notification type on/off for both in-app and email channels. We recommend keeping task and payment notifications enabled for the best experience.

Privacy & Security

Go to Account Settings > Security > Change Password. Enter your current password and your new password. We recommend using a strong, unique password and enabling two-factor authentication.

We never sell your personal data. We share limited information only as needed: your name and ratings are visible to other users, task details are shown to potential taskers, and payment data is processed by Stripe. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

You can request a full export of your data including: profile information, task history, messages, reviews, and payment records. Go to Account Settings > Privacy > Download My Data. The export is prepared within 24 hours.
